AGREEMENT Istion’s Crewed & Bare boat Charter packages are based on the Charter Party Contract which is the official charter contract in Greece.
PAYMENTS A down payment is required by bank's transfer to our account as soon as we sign the charter contracts. The balance is due prior to embarkation according to the charter contract.
CANCELLATION POLICY Cancellation fees are calculated depending on period of time between the date of cancellation and departure date, according to the charter contract. In any case we guarantee that the total of the charter fee (less Euro 300) will be returned when first time cancelled yacht is re-booked for the same period under same conditions.
DELIVERY- REDELIVERY
Our starting & ending day is Saturday.
Embarking at 17.00 p.m., disembarking at 09.00 a.m. Yacht should be returned to the base the day before the end of the charter period, latest 18.00 p.m. Other arrangements can be made after special agreement.
INSURANCE For us insurance is the major issue. ISTION is proud to offer:
Third party and passenger civil liability any one accident
Damage liability third party and passenger's yacht any one accident.
Sea pollution liability
SECURITY DEPOSIT A Security deposit has to be paid prior to embarkation, which varies according to the size of the yacht. Every yacht is comprehensively insured (against damage to the hull, machinery and/or equipment), including third Party cover, beyond a deductible excess figure. The refundable Security Deposit is held against the yachts insurance excess and in the event of damage to the yacht or loss of equipment, the estimated value for repairs and replacement with original is withheld from your security deposit and the balance is returned to you.
Travel Insurance We strongly suggest you to buy travel insurance, including cancellation insurance to protect your booking deposit. Please ask for more information.
ISTION SAILING HOLIDAYS GUARANTEE Istion guarantees that in case of engine, battery, alternator, sails, rigging breakdown during our clients' charters we will complete repairs within 4 working hours of notification. Otherwise clients will be compensated for sailing time lost, receiving sailing time at the end of their scheduled charter (if yacht is available) or toward their next charter with us.
SAILING QUALIFICATIONS The Greek bare boat charter contract requires one sailing license/certification and one experienced crew member. ASA certifications are fully recognized. In many cases this may be a problem, as many experienced sailors do not have a sailing license. For those sailors Istion can issue a sailing certification based on their experience. Client fills in our sailing qualification form with his sailing experience. Istion Sailing Holidays may qualify him to charter a bare boat. Following to that collected experience through Istion bare boat charters may raise sailor's qualification level to the Istion Of shore sailing Certification. Istion SAILING SCHOOL courses provide sailors the American sailing Association Certifications which are recognized worldwide.
