Cyclades is a Greek island group in the Aegean Sea, south-east of the mainland of Greece. They are one of the island groups which constitute the Aegean archipelago. The name refers to the islands around (κυκλάς) the sacred island of Delos. The Cyclades comprise about 220 islands, the major ones being Amorgos, Anafi, Andros, Antíparos, Delos, Ios, Kéa, Kímolos, Kythnos, Milos, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Folegandros, Serifos, Syros, Tinos, and Thira or Santorini. Most of the smaller islands are uninhabited.
Amorgos means fresh air, sun, smell from the herbs and an endless view of the bright blue Aegean Sea. You can have this view from almost every single point of your route. Andros is the northernmost Cycladic island and second in area after Naxos.Has an area of 374 sq. km and an elongated shape stretching from N-NW to S-SE.At the western part of Andros are the big sandy beaches of the island, easily accessible and developed. Those seeking quiet beaches and rough landscapes should visit the northeastern and southeastern parts.There are many rivers and torrents and plenty of springs. Ravines have rich vegetation with plane and walnut trees, while the slopes (especially at the south) are full of oak trees. Around the villages there are olive and lemon trees groves and many vineyards. The northwestern part of the island is bushy and somebody can see partridges, hawks or even rarer predatory birds, like eagles, wild pigeons and martins.

Kimolos was called "Argentiera" by the Venetians, and takes its name from the Greek word Kimolia, which means chalk. Both names recall the white rocks of the Island. And in effect, a white/silver quality of perlite is still being extracted today, along with cimolite, chalk.Kimolos measures 37 km2 with a perimeter of 16 miles, it is located North East of the island of Milos, separated by the strait of Kimolos, and more generally in the South/West part of the Cycladic Islands. Is a volcanic island, mountainous and full of natural caves. South/East of the island there are three other small islands: Ag.Giorgos, Ag. Efthathios ,and the larger, wonderful Poliaigos, all uninhabited.The populations of Kimolos is still dedicated to agriculture and farming.
