Rebetiko Festival in Skopelos

A Summer Tribute to Greece’s Soulful Sound (July 2–4, 2025)

When the sun sets over the Aegean and bouzouki strings echo through the narrow alleys, you know Skopelos is calling.

From July 2 to 4, 2025, the lush island of Skopelos invites you to experience the Rebetiko Festival a heartfelt celebration of Greece’s most soulful musical tradition. Over three unforgettable nights, the island becomes a living stage for rebetiko: the raw, poetic genre often called the Greek blues.

What to Expect

Set against the backdrop of whitewashed houses and the deep blue sea, the festival brings together musicians from across Greece to perform in open-air venues, tavernas, and intimate village squares. The program includes:

-Live concerts with legendary rebetiko artists and up-and-coming performers

-Workshops and talks exploring the history, instruments, and lyrical depth of the genre

-Authentic food and wine served alongside the music, in true Greek fashion

This year’s line-up features a mix of female vocalists reviving old-school gems and modern interpretations that keep the genre alive and evolving.

Why Skopelos?

Skopelos isn’t just the greenest island in the Sporades, it’s also deeply rooted in Greek culture. The island has long inspired artists and musicians, and its serene harbors and vibrant old town offer the perfect setting for a music festival that’s as much about the mood as it is about the melody.

Add to that the relaxed pace of island life, the scent of pine and jasmine, and you’ve got the ultimate summer escape.

Sail into the Sound

For those cruising the Aegean this summer, timing your voyage to coincide with the Rebetiko Festival is an experience not to miss. Anchor in Skopelos Town, stroll up to the open-air venues as dusk falls, and let the rhythm guide your evening.
