Sataraš is a traditional Balkan summer stew made with peppers, tomatoes, and onions - slowly cooked into a soft, rich, naturally sweet dish.
It’s the kind of meal that feels like home, even at sea.
Ingredients (for 4 guests)
3 bell peppers (sliced)
4 ripe tomatoes (chopped)
1 onion (sliced)
2 tbsp olive oil
Salt & pepper
Method
Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onion until soft.
Add peppers and cook for 5–7 minutes.
Add tomatoes, salt, and pepper.
Simmer gently for 15–20 minutes until everything melts together.

Serve warm with bread, or top with a fried egg for an easy lunch between swims.
