The unexpected Greek summer signature.
About the Recipe
This is one of those unexpected Greek combinations that surprises every guest and then quietly disappears from the table within minutes.
Sweet watermelon meets salty feta, creating a perfect contrast that feels made for summer at sea. Light, refreshing, and incredibly easy to prepare, it is often served across Greek islands as a quick snack or light dessert during the hottest months.
On board, it becomes the ultimate “between swims” moment, cold, simple, and effortlessly satisfying.
Ingredients (for 4 guests)
1 small watermelon (or half a large one), cubed
150–200g feta cheese
A few fresh mint leaves (optional)
Extra virgin olive oil (optional, light drizzle)
Method
Cut the watermelon into bite-sized cubes.
Place in a serving bowl or platter.
Add feta, broken into rustic chunks.
Tear fresh mint leaves over the top (optional).
Finish with a very light drizzle of olive oil if desired.
Serve immediately, well chilled.
On Board Tip
Prepare and keep it in the fridge or onboard cooler just before serving. The colder it is, the better the contrast of flavours.
For a more elegant presentation, serve on a flat platter instead of a bowl to keep the colors and textures visually striking on deck.
