DC Tech Ltd. and its project partners, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb, Grid ONE Ltd., and Istion Adriatic Ltd., commenced the implementation of the research and development project “PowerBox: Research and Development of Multiple Innovative Products in the Smart and Clean Energy Segment” on 15 January 2026.

PowerBox: Research and Development of Multiple Innovative Products in the Smart and Clean Energy Segment
The project has secured co-financing through the call for project proposals for the award of grants under “IRI S3 – Increasing the Development of New Products and Services Arising from Research and Development Activities”, Call Reference No. PK.1.1.12, implemented by the Ministry of Economy. The project is co-financed under the Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme 2021–2027.
The objective of this ambitious research and development project is the development of two innovative products:
An intelligent distributed modular Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), designed for industrial and commercial users as well as electricity distribution network operators.
A battery system for boats and catamarans (PowerBox Maritime), designed to reduce the need for noisy, polluting, and costly diesel generators on smaller vessels and catamarans.
These products are intended for the maritime sector and tourism industry (marinas, charter companies, and ports), as well as industrial and commercial consumers such as factories, ports, and data centers seeking to reduce energy costs and enhance security of energy supply.

Obavijest o početku provedbe projekta
PowerBox: Istraživanje i razvoj više inovativnih proizvoda u segmentu pametne i čiste energije
FINANCIRA EUROPSKA UNIJA
Tvrtka DC Tech d.o.o. i partneri Fakultet elektrotehnike i računarstva Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, Grid ONE d.o.o. te Istion Adriatic d.o.o. započeli su 15.1.2026. godine provedbu istraživačko-razvojnog projekta „PowerBox: Istraživanje i razvoj više inovativnih proizvoda u segmentu pametne i čiste energije“. Projekt je ostvario sufinanciranje putem poziva na dostavu projektnih prijedloga za dodjelu bespovratnih sredstava “IRI S3 - Povećanje razvoja novih proizvoda i usluga koji proizlaze iz aktivnosti istraživanja i razvoja“, kod poziva: PK.1.1.12 kojeg provodi Ministarstvo gospodarstva. Projekt je sufinanciran u okviru Programa Konkurentnost i kohezija 2021. - 2027.
Cilj ovog ambicioznog istraživačko-razvojnog projekta te razvoj dvaju inovativna proizvoda: i) inteligentni distribuirani modularni baterijski sustav za pohranu energije (BESS), dizajniran za industrijske i komercijalne korisnike te operatere distribucijskih mreža te ii) baterijski sustav za brodice i katamarane (PowerBox Maritime), dizajniran da smanji potrebu za korištenjem bučnih, zagađujućih i skupih dizelskih generatora na manjim brodicama i katamaranima. Proizvodi su namijenjeni za pomorski sektor i turizam (marine, charter kompanije i luke) te industrijske i komercijalne potrošače kao što su tvornice, luke i data centri koji žele smanjiti troškove energije i osigurati sigurnost opskrbe.
